END OF ETERNITY

Creation: 2016
Original Cast: Silvia Azzoni – Sasha Riva / Yumi Aizawa – Sasha Riva
Music: P. Glass
Duration: ca. 16 min

“A reflection on farewell at the end of a life.
A young man imagines himself in his old age and comes face to face with "Eternity".
The big question about what is next after death and the meaning of
the journey we live. What is eternity? Is there anything truly eternal in life
or even eternity will come at some point to a real end?
The boy reflects himself like in front of a mirror in a figure of
a life which accompanies him to constantly confront himself with memories of
the past.”

Sasha Riva made this choreography at the beginning of 2016 and in order to represent the memories of the male character he decided to use the time spent during the 8 years after leaving his hometown in 2008.
This piece contains a collage of different experiences he lived, danced or created and it’s dedicated to people who have contributed to his artistic growth in those years, like with the Hamburg Ballet or
during the intensive program with the NDT.
”End of Eternity” is mainly a tribute to all these different people that have inspired him
throughout that period of time.
